What this quote means to me is that when ever you do something theorem the excitement the more fun you will have.If you are exited when you do your homework yo will most likely memorize it quicker.In sports you always have to be enthusiastic to learn a new trick or to get better.A good example of a person who is not enthusiastic would be a kid who might every day to school but never found it fun, will then miss some days then drop out because he is so far behind.

What this quote means is that even if you have one of the both things (intelligence or character) you will need the other to be successful.It is like a bike if one tire is flat then you won't go that far it doesn't matter which one are you missing both are needed.An ex. would be you trying to get a job they might see your resume and see that you have a good GPA ,but then they see your character and might think twice and not give you the job.
